their stories.
  • MICHELLE ALSINA
    Dillard’s Lakeside
    Metairie, LA
    How did you prepare?
I made sure I was confident with the
    Signature Services and Signature
Techniques by using them every day
with customers. I also studied our
    skincare philosophy, so I’m more
confident when talking about it with
    my customer—which is impacting
    my skincare sales.
    Were you nervous?
I was a little nervous prior to
    certification, but not during the
process. I just focused on what
I do every day with my customers.
    What does it mean to
you to be certified in the
    Estée Lauder Standards?
This is what Mrs. Estée Lauder would
do daily with her customers. Being
well versed in all of the Standards is
the basis of being a Beauty Advisor.
    I feel very proud!
    How has being certified
    affected your sales?
    It elevated my confidence
level and it has been easier
    to maintain my IPT.
    Since being certified, I have
maintained a 2.0 IPT monthly. This
month to date my IPT is 2.2.
  • KELSEY STEELE
    Dillard’s Northeast
    Dallas, Texas
    How did you prepare?
Every week I focused on studying
a different chapter of Beautiful Start.
I made a point to sit a customer
down every day and perform at least
one of the Signature Services on
    them. Practicing on my customers
and with my fellow Beauty Advisors
helped perfect my skills. I felt very
    prepared going into the certification
    process.
    Were you nervous?
I was very nervous going into
    certification. My Account Executive
    and Coordinator helped ease my
    anxiety by making the experience
    fun and empowering.
    What does it mean to
you to be certified in the
    Estée Lauder Standards?
It means that I not only know how
to do my job, but that my skill level
is at the peak of our company
standards. I love being the first
    Business Manager in my district
to be certified and I can’t wait
for my whole team to experience
    this feeling of accomplishment.
    How has being certified
    affected your sales?
    Being certified has helped
    my skincare sales immensely.
Now I can talk about the technology
    with confidence and recommend
the best products based on my
    customer’s concerns. The Signature
    Services and Techniques have
allowed me to increase my IPT
and AUS with ease. I sit my custom-
ers down because I know that
my skill level has been tested and
    is the best.
  • RHEENA
    Macy’s
    Columbia, Maryland
    How did you prepare?
I used my Beautiful Start Book
and chose one or two products every
week to focus on. I practiced demon-
    strating and introducing those to
customers. I also made a study guide
with the most important points of
    each product.
    Were you nervous?
Totally nervous! We do these things
every single day but it was a totally
different experience to be tested. It
was worth it though—when I passed
    I felt so accomplished, happy,
excited, and proud of myself. It was
    a great feeling.
    What does it mean to
you to be certified in the
    Estée Lauder Standards?
Certification means you’re at a differ-
ent level. Once you get certified know
you’re part of the elite group. You’ve
made the commitment to study the
material so you can educate the cus-
    tomer. Everyone who gets certified
    should feel very proud.
    How has being certified
    affected your sales?
    Certification boosted my self
    esteem and confidence.

I’m more willing and able to sit the
customer down. It’s helped me build
sales even more in the long run
and I noticed it’s been easier to get
    customers in my client registry.
